For Pete’s Sake Cornhole Tournament

Maryanne Pastry Shoppe is hosting this fundraising tournament in memory of their late family member, Peter R. Bossow, Jr., a SIC lifeguard, in support of the many families that FPS has helped over the years. This tournament will help raise funds for the FPS Travel and Staycation Respite from Cancer program and is a Round Robin format that guarantees every team will play four games.  The bracket is then ranked after the round robin by record and points, and a single elimination playoff bracket is made with the top eight teams. All registrants will receive a coupon for a free donut and coffee at the bakery to thank them for their participation in the event. Rain date: July 23, 2021.

Wildwood Crest Sand Sculpting Festival

Grab your buckets and shovels and head to the beach to create works of art in the sand. This amateur and semi-pro sand sculpting contest is hosted by professional world-renowned sand sculptor Matt Long and “Can You Dig It!” Sand Tools. Free to all participants and spectators. Sculptures will be judged on creativity, execution, composition and overall presentation, and prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each division. Rain or shine.

Hands-On History at Historic Cold Spring Village

Two days of family-friendly, interactive and educational fun are planned for Historic Cold Spring Village’s “Hands-on History”. Children will be given a “Pastport” at the start of their Village trip, which can be stamped at the buildings they visit after completing a take-home craft or activity, like writing with a quill pen, carding wool or churning butter. “Pastports” can be redeemed at the Country Store for a free treat.

Stone Harbor Festival of Lights Boat Parade

Along the bayfront, Stone Harbor

The Boat parade begins at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor, then heads south around Paradise Basin and Sanctuary Basin. Boats will enter Carnival Bay, then Pleasure Bay. The boats continue north into Stone Harbor basin, followed by Shelter Haven, Snug Harbor, South and North Basins. Boats will return south and end back at YCSH where judging occurs on deck followed by the after-party.

The Wildwoods Loves Waddler’s Contest

A fun event for infants and toddlers (up to 2 years old) to show off their speedy crawling or “waddling” technique on the day before the official Wildwoods Baby Parade! Free registration will begin at the circle in front of the convention center at 9:30 am and waddle begins at 10:30 am. Prizes will be awarded. Waddlers are encouraged to also participate in the official Wildwoods Baby Parade (a tradition since 1909) the next day at 6:00 pm.

Down on the Farm Weekend at Historic Cold Spring Village

Experience life on an Early American farm through hands-on activities and exhibits at Historic Cold Spring Village’s ‘Down on the Farm’ Weekend, Historic Cold Spring Village, an open-air living history museum, presents the trades, crafts, architecture, and lifestyles of an Early American, rural South Jersey farming community. The Village is also home to a working 8-acre heritage farm complex. Special exhibits throughout the Village will include collections of antique and modern farming equipment and tools. Visitors can tour the historic Corson-Gandy Barn, c. 1880, which is home to Levi the Village horse. Guests can visit the Village sheep, pigs, chickens, and calves.
