Twenty Author Meet-and-Greet Opportunities at Avalon Library’s Local Author Fair

There‘s nothing like cool sea breezes, glistening waves, and the laughter of seagulls to inspire creatives. This is why so many artists flock to the shore to unleash their natural talent and perfect their craft. Especially authors, who create fictional stories set in or inspired by the seashore. It’s also where non-fiction writers put words to paper to share their memoir or area of specialty with the world.

If you’ve ever wanted to meet the author of a book you’ve read, to learn more about their inspiration and perhaps get a signed copy of their book, the Avalon Free Public Library will provide you with that unique opportunity. On Saturday June 1, the library will host a Local Author Book Signing Fair from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon, featuring twenty authors from several different genres. With the gorgeous weather promised for this weekend, the authors will be displaying their books at the school track and field adjacent to the library (on 30th and Ocean Drive), giving readers an opportunity to browse the many different works being featured.

While the library has hosted local authors individually over the years, this is the first time this many authors will be on hand for a single event with books to appeal to a wide variety of tastes. Readers will have an opportunity to meet and get to know the authors, purchase books, and get them signed. The event is free to attend. In the (hopefully rare) case of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside the school gymnasium.
