Avalon’s Special Events are held annually from March – December, which is also true for its island neighbor, Stone Harbor. If you’re looking for things to do in Avalon and Stone Harbor, you’ve come to the right place. Here is the 2021 events calendar for Seven Mile Island.

July

Avalon Boat Parade
Saturday, July 3, 2021 4:00 pm
Avalon Yacht Club, 704 7th Street, Avalon

Come enjoy boats decorated in this year’s Patriotic theme. Parade begins at the Yacht Club, proceeds past Avalon Sport Fishing Center and Avalon Anchorage Marina to Princeton Harbor.

Avalon Independence Day Celebration
Sunday, July 4, 2021, 7:30 pm
Surfside Park, 30th Street and the Beach

Fun and entertainment for the whole family. Free concert at Surfside Park, followed by fireworks at dusk (approximately 8:45) from 30th Street beach.

Fireworks can be seen from any beachfront location.

Avalon’s Environmental Commission and The Wetlands Institute sponsor this family-friendly series, “Secrets of the Beach: Creatures Who Share our Barrier Island”. In the event of inclement weather, this event will occur on Thursday. This event repeats on the third Wednesday of every month between May – September.

Come and enjoy delicious foods served from acclaimed food truck vendors.

Stone Harbor Festival of Lights Boat Parade
Saturday, July 24, 2021 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Along the bayfront, Stone Harbor

The Boat parade begins at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor, then heads south around Paradise Basin and Sanctuary Basin. Boats will enter Carnival Bay, then Pleasure Bay. The boats continue north into Stone Harbor basin, followed by Shelter Haven, Snug Harbor, South and North Basins. Boats will return south and end back at YCSH where judging occurs on deck followed by the after-party.

2021 Stone Harbor Arts and Crafts Festival
Saturday August 7, 2021 – 9:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sunday, August 8, 2021 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

This festival features over 200 artisans from over 12 states who will be on hand to exhibit and sell their artwork.

The Fourth Annual “Tour Through Time” Fundraiser for the Stone Harbor Museum will raise funds to support the mission of further development of the museum’s historical archives and educational activities, the preservation of local artifacts, and maintenance of the Museum.

Kids Harbor Festival

Avalon’s Festival of Trees

More than 30 trees and wreaths decorated by local businesses and residents will be showcased with an opportunity to bid for purchase.

Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children Turkey Trot 5K Run/ 1-Mile Walk

This 5k run and 1.5-mile family walk is a fun way to be together and raise money for a worthy cause.  Proceeds of the walk/run benefit the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children.
