Independence Day Weekend at Historic Cold Spring Village

A variety of patriotic family activities, programs, and music will be taking place and the Village’s restored historic buildings will be open, featuring demonstrations of Early American trades and crafts. At 11:30 am on Saturday and Sunday at the Dennisville Inn, there will be a Militia Muster for children ages 5 to 12, followed by a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 12:30 pm. On Saturday at 2:00 pm the John Walter Cape Community Band will perform American heritage tunes. On Sunday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm learn some of the history of the American Flag at the Village Gazebo.

Lowe Township Independence Day Festival & Fireworks

Two days of family-friendly, interactive and educational fun are planned for Historic Cold Spring Village’s “Hands-on History”. Children will be given a “Pastport” at the start of their Village trip, which can be stamped at the buildings they visit after completing a take-home craft or activity, like writing with a quill pen, carding wool or churning butter. “Pastports” can be redeemed at the Country Store for a free treat.

Down on the Farm Weekend at Historic Cold Spring Village

Experience life on an Early American farm through hands-on activities and exhibits at Historic Cold Spring Village’s ‘Down on the Farm’ Weekend, Historic Cold Spring Village, an open-air living history museum, presents the trades, crafts, architecture, and lifestyles of an Early American, rural South Jersey farming community. The Village is also home to a working 8-acre heritage farm complex. Special exhibits throughout the Village will include collections of antique and modern farming equipment and tools. Visitors can tour the historic Corson-Gandy Barn, c. 1880, which is home to Levi the Village horse. Guests can visit the Village sheep, pigs, chickens, and calves.

National Lighthouse Day

Celebrate National Lighthouse Day at the Cape May Lighthouse. Make your own crafts, listen to songs of the sea, meet the lighthouse keepers, shop for nautical merchandise and more. Free admission to the activities, separate admission to climb the lighthouse but kids climb free with a paying adult. Crafts and collectibles show will also be featured.

Craft Beer, Music and Crab Festival

This 8th annual festival has been extended to a two-day event, featuring local and regional craft beers and favorite summer foods including steamed crabs, pulled pork, crab cakes, shrimp and hot dogs, as well as food from regional vendors and a crafts and collectibles show.

Salute to Summer Festival (formerly the Tomato Festival)

Formerly known as the Tomato Festival, West Cape May is hosting a Salute to Summer Festival at the Borough’s Backyard Park where the summer season will be celebrated with a patriotic-themed festival. Festivities are planned to begin at 9:00am and continue until 4:00pm. Proceeds from the quirky event benefit the WCM Shade Tree Commission in their endeavor to protect and improve the tree canopy of West Cape May.

Revolutionary & Civil War Weekend at Historic Cold Spring Village

Authentically clad and equipped reenactors bring the American Revolution & Civil War to life on the grounds of Historic Cold Spring Village. This event will feature encampments, weaponry, and demonstrations from living history groups, including Continentals and Hessians. Visitors can experience an artillery demonstration on both days. Children can search the Village for clues in the Patriot Spy Game on both Saturday and Sunday. John Ryan, HCSV Assistant Director, will give a special presentation, Flags of the American Revolution, in the Welcome Center on both Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. A reading of the Declaration of Independence at 12pm each day at the Village Gazebo.

Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey

The Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey is a two-day event held every year on the third weekend in October to encourage participants to visit participating lighthouses, life-saving stations and museums throughout the state. The Village paths come alive with the sights and sounds of the holiday season at this event. The West Cape May Christmas Parade

Always the first Saturday in December, The WCM Community Christmas Parade sets the stage for the areas holiday season. Now in its 56th year, the parade steps off at 5:00pm sharp from the WCM Volunteer Firehouse and marches South on Broadway, winds East on Perry, and onto Carpenter Lane in the City of Cape May.

Champagne And Sparkling Wine Pairing Dinner at The Pier House

This December Pairing Dinner Series features champagne and sparkling wine. Pairing Dinner includes 4-Course Dinner paired with specially selected sparkling wines and champagne. Expert teachings between each course where the nuances between champagne, cava, prosecco, and sparkling wine are discussed.

This half-hour tour takes you through Cape May at Christmas with Santa. Times on Saturday are 10:00 am, 11:00 am and 12:00 noon, and on Sunday the trolley tour is at 10:00 am and 11:00 am. This event repeats each Saturday and Sunday from November 27 through December 19, 2021.
