The Reeds at Shelter Haven – A Luxury Stay by the Bay

If you’re looking for a unique resort experience along the southern Jersey shore, look no further than The Reeds at Shelter Haven, a luxury boutique hotel and resort nestled between the bay and Stone Harbor’s quaint downtown shopping district. For the second year in a row, The Reeds has been named by Travel and Leisure #1 in World’s Best Mid-Atlantic Hotel for 2022.

Open year-round, The Reeds offers breathtaking views and stunning sunset vistas from 58 well-apportioned guestrooms and suites. In addition to its beautiful setting and posh accommodations, The Reeds offers experiences and amenities like no other Jersey shore hotel, including a motorized cart service to take you and your group to and from the beach.

Didn’t pack a beach chair? No worries, The Reeds offers guests its signature beach chairs, beach towels and umbrellas. Food and beverage service is also available on the beach. Guests can order from the many different food options offered by the resort and have it brought right to the beach.

The resort’s rooftop pool offers a refreshing place to cool off in the hot summer sun, and from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm daily, overnight guests can charter a boat cruise for groups of up to six passengers. Dining can be arranged for the cruises, with options ranging from charcuterie and snack basket to a full feast. Other amenities include concierge service to help coordinate your stay and plan activities, 24-hour front desk service, daily housekeeping and seasonal turndown service. Free Wi-Fi and seasonal valet parking is complimentary with your stay.

The Reeds is located in the heart of Stone Harbor, steps from boutique shops, ice cream parlors, mini-golf experiences, a movie theater and more. But one doesn’t have to leave the resort to enjoy decadent dining or superb shopping experiences. Four unique dining options are located right on property.

The Water Star Grille is an upscale bayfront restaurant that provides a decadent share-plate dining experience. Every Thursday is Rosé Night, featuring specialty rosé cocktails, frosé treats, rosé by the glass or bottle, and more. Sax at The Reeds offers live music and delicious menu offerings in coastal casual style.

Buckets Margarita Bar and Cantina is a colorful, taqueria-style restaurant situated on the bay with specials throughout the week, including Sunday Fun Days, Margarita Mondays, Taco Tuesdays, late-night cocktails, and more. For those nights you want to grab something simple, Stone Harbor Pizza Pub offers traditional and specialty pies, pub bites, and gourmet sandwiches in a pub-style setting.

Anthropologie at The Reeds, a summer pop-up shop, offers beach essentials including bathing suits, coverups, sundresses, accessories and other summer items. The resort is also home to the Salt Spa, where guests can enjoy unparalleled spa experiences including exotic Turkish bath treatment, Brine Light Inhalation Therapy and other traditional services such as manis, pedis, hairstyling and spray tanning. Packages and services are available for individual guests and private parties.

Sports enthusiasts will love the options offered by the hotel, including a fitness center, complimentary kayak and paddleboard rentals and yoga by the bay. A new Court Sports package offered this summer will delight tennis and pickleball-play afficionados. With this package, guests will enjoy two evenings in a premier guest room, exclusive access to tennis and pickleball courts with the option of private lessons from an expert from 7 Mile Tennis Academy, a pre-and-post-game essentials welcome basket filled with tennis essentials and a $100 daily dinner credit for use at Water Star Grille.

As if this wasn’t enough to provide guests with unparalleled resort experiences, The Reeds has a summer full of events planned. On July 29, 2022, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, you can learn how to create and care for beautiful wine bottle succulent arrangements while enjoying refreshments. On August 24, 2022, The Reeds will be host the Fifth Annual “Tour Through Time” Fundraiser to support Stone Harbor Museum’s historical archives and educational activities. This event will include live entertainment, an open bar, hors d’oeuvres and much more.

The Reeds is a great place to return to each summer, or during the holidays when Stone Harbor sparkles with holiday magic. The shoulder seasons of fall and spring offer guests a more relaxed option when the weather is cooler and the beaches less crowded. Gift cards are available for purchase, so you can treat your friends and family to a unique shore experience they’ll never forget.
