Decorating pumpkins….making scarecrows….dunking for apples….does fall get any better than this? If you’re looking for some fall family fun, head on down the shore in the next few weeks and enjoy some family time together.

October 6-7, 2017 Ocean City Fall Block Party and Fireworks Spectacular (9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Asbury Avenue)
Celebrate autumn with this spectacular party located between 5th – 14th Streets on Asbury Avenue. Over 400 crafters, food vendors, music and more will be present. A fireworks display will be held in the evening over the ocean.

October 6-7 Avalon Chamber Seafood Festival (10:00 am – 5:00 pm, Avalon Community Hall, 30th Street and Avalon Avenue).

Cape May Fall Festival – October 19th, 2017 – October 22nd, 2017 (Cape May)
So.Many.Birds! This birding festival is held at the Cape May Convention Hall and is hosted by the NJ Audubon Society. Vendors include artists, crafters & Cape May Bird Observatory’s nature store. Kids activities include crafts, a live touch tank, and scavenger hunt. Jonathan Wood and The Raptor Project brings live raptors – 3 shows daily. Admission is free.

Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey – October 21-22, 2017 (8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
Visit New Jersey’s historic lighthouses and select affiliated museums all weekend, rain or shine. Visitors will enjoy touring land-based lighthouses, 2 museums, and 2 life-saving stations over the weekend, as well as help raise funds for continued lighthouse preservation, education and restoration. The Cape May, Hereford Inlet and Absecon Lighthouses are included in the challenge, as are life-saving stations in Stone Harbor and Ocean City.

October 27 Avalon’s Trunk or Treat (5:00 – 7:00 pm, 30th Street parking lot, Avalon Community Hall).
