Free Weekly Events in Avalon and Stone Harbor
Each summer, Seven Mile Island offers free weekly events in both Avalon and Stone Harbor. The schedule is listed below:
Monday
Monday Fundays (June 24 to August 26)
Mondays, 10:00 am, Avalon Free Public Library and Avalon History Center
The library and history center team up to provide interactive, fun activities for kids every Monday.
Tuesday
Family Story Time (June 25 to August 20)
Tuesdays, 10:00 am
Avalon Free Public Library
Join us for stories, songs and crafts for children of all ages.
Tuesdays at the Tower Concert Series (July 9 – August 27)
Tuesdays, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, 95th Street Water Tower Plaza
Features live bands and a pop-up bar, sponsored by the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce. This is a free event and is open to the public.
Wednesday
Crafty Wednesdays (June 26 – August 21)
Wednesdays, 10:00 am, Avalon Free Public Library
Fun arts and crafts activities for kids of all ages.
Thursday
Lego Thursdays (June 20 – August 29)
Thursdays, 10:00 am, Avalon Free Public Library
Groups will work together to design and build new creations each week.
Thursdays at Surfside (June 20 – September 5)
Thursdays, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Surfside Park, 30th Street Beach
This summer concert series happens every Thursday night. Bring your beach chairs and enjoy beer and wine, on sale for the event, which is sponsored by the Avalon Chamber of Commerce.
Friday
Friday Nights at Surfside Park (June 28 – August 23)
Friday nights, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, Surfside Park, 30th Street Beach, Avalon
Enjoy your favorite characters and a DJ dance party, games, trivia and more. Each week features a different theme and includes balloon art, face painting, tattoos, and more.

Saturday
Stone Harbor Bird Sanctuary Tours (July 6 – August 17)
Saturdays 10:00 am
Holly Path, 2nd Avenue, Stone Harbor
Grab binoculars and your best bird guide! Then meet us at Holly Path, 2nd Avenue Entrance in Stone Harbor, for a guided tour of the Stone Harbor Bird Sanctuary.
Sunday
Stone Harbor Farmer’s Market (June 2 – September 1)
Sundays, 8:00 am – 12:30 pm
