Sea Isle City festivals and events are plentiful throughout the year. If you are looking for things to do in Sea Isle City, or wish to know what’s going on in Sea Isle City, you’ve come to the right place. If you’ve come here looking for festivals and events in Strathmere or Townsends Inlet, you were brought here on purpose. Sea Isle shares its island home with Strathmere and Townsends Inlet so all festivals and events held in Sea Isle are in very close proximity to Strathmere and Townsends Inlet. At the time of this posting, there were no festivals and events in Strathmere and Townsends Inlet scheduled, but we will be updating this page as more information is known.

March

St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration
Saturday March 14, 2020 2:00pm
Kix McNutley’s, 120 63rd Street

The annual Celtic procession will include live pipe-and-drum music, Irish residents, Municipal and County officials, Sea Isle’s “Irish Royal Family” and many other participants. The parade route is Landis Avenue between 83rd – 63rd. Prior to the start of the parade, Mayor Desiderio and his family will kick-off their annual “Irish Celebration” with a “Best Dressed” competition contest. The contest is open to all residents and visitors and prizes will be awarded to the contest’s winners in two categories: “Best Dressed Irish Individual” and “Best Dressed Irish Group.”  Each contestant in the competition will be invited to walk in this year’s Saint Patrick’s Day Parade.  Jitney Service will be available from 2:00 pm until 12:00 midnight along the usual Jitney Route.  The fare is $2 before 11:00 pm, and $4 after 11:00 pm.

April

Sea Isle City Girls Weekend
Friday April 24, 2020 to Sunday, April 26, 2020
Island Wide

The Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization will host their annual Spring Girls Weekend, with special offers at retailers, salon and fitness services, restaurants, lodging and other businesses throughout town.  Girls Weekend will also feature wine tastings, live entertainment, dancing and more.  Participating businesses will be easy to identify thanks to colorful “Girls Weekend” flags hanging in front of stores and restaurants. Jitney service will be available Friday from 6:00 pm – 2:-00 am and Saturday from 4:-00 pm – 2:00 am.  The fare is $2 before 11:00 pm, and $4 after 11:00 pm.

Beach Cleanup

This open house celebrates summer and is open to all ages. Refreshments, face painters, games and much more. Hosted by Sea Isle City Historical Museum.

Skimmer Festival
Saturday, June 20, 2020 – 9:00am to 4:00pm
JFK Boulevard and the Promenade

Skimmer Festival is Sea Isle’s largest summer festival, featuring family-friendly activities and entertainment. It will begin with a Seaside Vendor Craft Market along the oceanfront Promenade. The Skimmer Food Court will be open in front of Excursion Park, located at JFK Boulevard and Pleasure Avenue, where a tempting selection of local delicacies and traditional festival-fare will be on sale.  At Excursion Park, there will be live music and a variety of free family activities including amusement rides from 10: 00 am to 4:00 pm. Jitney Service will be available on Saturday starting at 9:00 am. In case of rain, most activities will be cancelled but Saturday’s Seaside Craft Market and Food Court are Rain or Shine.

Skimmer Antique Auto Show & Parade
Sunday, June 21, 2020 – 9:00am to 1:30pm
Promenade, between 29th Street and JFK Boulevard

Skimmer Festival will continue on Father’s Day with an Antique Auto Show along the Promenade. History-buffs and auto-enthusiasts will flock to display and admire scores of vintage vehicles while enjoying live music by The Snake Brothers Band. At 1:00 pm, trophies will be presented to the winners of the Antique Auto Show. At 1:30, the vehicles will parade through town, bringing this year’s Skimmer Festival to a spectacular close.

Skimmer Weekend Historical Trolley Tours
Sunday, June 21, 2020 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
Excursion Park, JFK Boulevard and the Promenade

Free Guided Historical Trolley Tours will be offered every half-hour in front of Excursion Park. The tours will be led by members of the Sea Isle City Historical Society, who will point-out notable landmarks and explain how Sea Isle has grown over the years.

Sea Isle City Foodie Weekend
Friday, June 26, 2020 and Saturday June 27, 2020 12:00 noon – 9:00 pm; Sunday, June 28, 2020 12:00 noon – 5:00 pm

This three-day festival will feature more than 15 award winning food trucks from across the Northeast featuring different styles of cuisines from award winning food trucks.  There will also be crafters, family entertainment, live music, great drinks and more. This event is rain or shine.

Sara the Turtle Festival
Thursday, July 2, 2020 – 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Excursion Park, JFK Boulevard & the Promenade

Come learn about the important role turtles play in our environment while enjoying activities, entertainment and nature displays.  Festival-goers of all ages will enjoy exhibits, a close-up look at turtles, exotic animals, kid’s activities and live entertainment. Activities include face painting, sand art, strolling entertainers, a bounce house and rock climbing wall. A Diaper Derby will be held at 7:10 pm and a show will be featured at 8:00 pm.

Junior Olympics
Saturday, July 4, 2020 – 9:30am
Dealy Field, Central Avenue between 59th – 63rd Streets

Children (ages 3-13) are invited to participate in the annual competition. The event includes running, jumping and throwing contests.  Olympic-style medals will be presented to the winners.  This event lasts for approximately two-hours.

All Americana Family Night

Come and enjoy all things patriotic. This event will feature face painting, bounce house, patriotic costume contest, souvenir photos and things Red, White and Blue.

Sea Isle City Baby Parade
Tuesday, July 14, 2020 – 7:00pm
Promenade, between 34th and 44th Streets

The annual baby parade along the promenade features charming youngsters, fancy costumes and creative floats, as well as live music. Judging will take place prior to the start of the parade in a variety of categories and prizes will be awarded to winners at the Promenade’s main viewing area at JFK Boulevard. Pre-registration is required by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13. Rain date: July 15.

The purpose of the event is to enhance the relationship between law enforcement and the community it’s sworn to protect and serve. Fall Family Festival

Fall Family Festival is Sea Isle’s most popular autumn festival, featuring two-days of family-friendly activities and entertainment. Sea Isle City Irish Festival Weekend
Friday September 25, 2020 to Sunday September 27, 2020

This yearly Celtic celebration will feature live Irish music, dancing, an Irish Vendor’s Market, great food and countless festival goers “wearing the green.” The festival will kick-off at 3:00 pm on Friday with Irish bands taking the stage. On Saturday at 10:00 am, the Irish Vendor Market along JFK Boulevard (west of Landis Avenue) will run throughout the day and will feature a bevy of Irish collectibles, fashion apparel, crafts and “must have” green items.  In addition, the market will also feature food vendors offering many tempting selections. Saturday’s music line-up will continue with live Irish music throughout the day and evening. Irish Weekend will continue on Sunday at 10:00 am, when the Irish Vendors Market reopens along with musical entertainment Sunday afternoon

Sea Isle City Italian Festival
Saturday, October 3, 2020 – 11:00am to 6:00pm

Celebrate Sea Isle’s Italian heritage at this annual festival sponsored by Mayor Leonard Desiderio and his family. Festival goers will enjoy an Italian Vendors Market with craft and specialty merchandise, delicious Italian delicacies and plenty of live entertainment. Whether you’re Italian or not, come be Italian for the day. Later in the day, the Italian Festival’s annual Cannoli Eating Contest will delight spectators under the music tent.  The contender who consumes the most cannolis in the shortest amount of time will win a trophy and be declared “The Primo Cannoli Eating Champion.”

Sea Isle City Columbus Day Parade

Sea Isle City will celebrate its rich Italian heritage while delighting people of all ages. The parade will feature fire engines and other rescue vehicles, eye-catching floats, representatives from local businesses and civic organizations, members of Sea Isle’s Italian American Club, County and Municipal dignitaries, Sea Isle’s “Italian Royal Family” and many other participants.

Beach Cleanup

Halloween Parade & Dance Party
Friday, October 16, 2020 – 7:00pm
Landis Avenue from 45th Street to JFK Boulevard

The parade will feature live music, strolling entertainers, floats, local organizations and many well-costumed participants will appear.  The deadline to register for the Halloween Parade is Wednesday, October 14. The Halloween Awards Ceremony and Family Dance Party will take place at the Excursion Park Band Shell immediately after the parade.

Harborfest
Saturday, October 17, 2020 – 11:00am to 2:00pm
Marina Park, 42nd Place & the Bay

This annual celebration will offer fresh seafood, a vendor’s market, live music, blessing of the fleet, kid’s activities, raw clam-eating contest and much more. This event is rain or shine however, in case of heavy rain, the event will be moved indoors to the Oar House Restaurant.

ESA/South Jersey District Surfing Contest #7

This surfing contest is fun for all to watch or participate. The No-Surf/Rain date is October 31.

Sea Isle City Holiday Extravaganza Parade

The Holiday Parade sponsored by the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce & Revitalization will kick-off the upcoming holiday season and more family-fun activities continue on Saturday. The parade steps off at 6pm and features festive participants, decorated fire engines and floats from neighboring communities.  The route will run from JFK Blvd. & Central Ave. to Excursion Park.  The parade is followed by the Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony and Santa’s arrival at 6:30 pm.

Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony & Santa’s Arrival

Bring the family and enjoy a traditional Holiday evening out with Mayor Desiderio, as Santa Claus arrives on a holiday float to light the tree in Excursion Park. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will feature a photo station with famous characters, a Sing-Along with Santa’s Elves, hot cocoa and cookies and a snack booth. In addition to launching the Holiday Season with Santa’s arrival, the event will also give people the opportunity to make donations to Mayor Desiderio’s Holiday Toy and Food Drive.  Collection boxes will be positioned at Excursion Park, where unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items will be collected for families in need.

Holiday Extravaganza Small Business Saturday
Saturday, November 28, 2020 – 10:00am to 3:00pm
Excursion Park, JFK Boulevard & Pleasure Avenue

Celebrate Sea Isle’s unique Small Businesses and get some holiday shopping done during Small Business Saturday.  Many stores and restaurants will be open!  Customers who spend $20 at participating businesses will be entered for a chance to win a big screen TV, courtesy of the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce & Revitalization. The Holiday Extravaganza continues today at Excursion Park with moon bounces, face painters, craft stations, famous characters, photo ops with Santa, live Holiday Performances, complimentary refreshments and a snack booth.

December

Holiday Open House

The Historical Society welcomes guests of all ages to come check out the museum and enjoy light refreshments.

New Year’s Eve Celebration
Thursday, December 31, 2020 – 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Gymnasium, 4501 Park Road

This family-oriented celebration will delight all ages with food, dancing, activities and an early countdown to midnight. Every year, hundreds of children and their families attend this festive celebration that allows kids to ring-in the New Year and still get to bed at a reasonable hour. Reservations are required (limited space availability) and children must be accompanied by an adult.  Dinner and dessert will be provided, and families are asked to bring their own non-alcoholic beverages. The evening will “end with a bang” at the JFK Boulevard Beach at 8pm with a Fireworks display. Jitney Service will be available from 6:00 pm until 4:00 am along Landis Avenue from 29th Street to 94th Street, North and Southbound.
