Townsends Inlet

Townsends Inlet is located in southern Sea Isle City. Townsends Inlet, Sea Isle City and Strathmere are all located on a barrier island known as Ludlam Island. Ludlam Island connects to Seven Mile Island here by way of a drawbridge. Avalon and Stone Harbor are located on Seven Mile Island.

Townsends Inlet is considered part of Sea Isle. However, residents and visitors to this part of the island are separated from the main part of town by many residential blocks. As a result, there are several restaurants, a deli, an ice cream shop in this area.

This little community is where the ocean meets the bay. A growth spurt has occurred here recently. A beloved iconic restaurant was demolished a few years ago. As a result, several new buildings were built in its location. These buildings house a condominium complexes,  shops and restaurants.

Large beachfront homes, wild dunes and sandy ocean beaches are featured on this end of the island. That is because this part of town is surrounded by the ocean, bay and inlet. Sailors navigate their vessels through the inlet from the Intracoastal Waterway to the ocean. Therefore, many people like to gather here to  watch the boats go by.  Additionally, these beaches are perfect for fishing.
