Stone Harbor Festivals and Events are held year-round. If you’re looking for things to do in Stone Harbor, or want to know what is going on in Stone Harbor, you’ve come to the right place. Here is Stone Harbor’s 2020 events calendar, as well as The Wetlands Institute events.


Stone Harbor Shiver Polar Plunge Weekend
Friday March 20, 2020 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm & Saturday March 21, 2020 9:30 am
The 10th Annual Stone Harbor Shiver begins with a pre-party at the Stone Harbor Yacht Club. A $20 admission fee includes dinner buffet, cash bar and auction. On Saturday, registration begins at 9:30 am at Stone Harbor’s famous Fred’s Tavern for their traditional “kegs & eggs” breakfast. At 11:45 am, a parade commences to the ocean where participants can show off their costumes and routines, followed by an icy dip in the Atlantic. A post-party will be held at Fred’s Tavern. Proceeds benefit Family Promise of Cape May County – a charity that supports, counsels and works to place homeless parents and children in permanent homes – and the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce.


Turtle Fest
Saturday April 11, 2020 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
The Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Boulevard

Enjoy a pancake breakfast and activities for the whole family. While you are here, earn a few turtle bucks and cash them in for prizes… Go on an egg hunt, create arts and crafts, help a naturalist search for turtle hatchlings along the trail, enjoy special turtle creature feature live animal presentations and stop by the aquarium to say hello to the critters and watch the animals have breakfast too.

Wetlands Institute Spring Shorebird and Horseshoe Crab Festival
Saturday, May 16, 2020 – Sunday May 17, 2020 9:30 am – 4:30 pm
Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Boulevard

Come join The Wetlands Institute for a festival that celebrates this amazing spectacle of nature – the shorebird migration and horseshoe crab spawning season. Guests of all ages can enjoy a variety of conservation-based activities including guided shorebird viewings; horseshoe crab workshops; horseshoe crab spawning survey demonstrations and reTURN the Favor walks; aquarium teaching tank and aquaculture tours; naturalist-led Salt Marsh Trail walks; and other hands-on education and conservation-based activities. Proceeds from the event will help support The Wetlands Institute’s conservation and education programs focused on shorebird and horseshoe crab conservation.

Stone Harbor Beach Opening Ceremony

Come join the fun as Stone Harbor officially opens its beaches for the summer season.

Stone Harbor 20th Annual Turtle Trot 5K & 2-Mile Fun Walk
Sunday May 24, 2020 8:00 am – 10:00 am
95th Street and the Beach, Stone Harbor

Join Stone Harbor’s 20-year Memorial Day Weekend 5k run and 2-mile dog-friendly fun walk on a course through scenic Stone Harbor. All ages are welcome, and prizes will be given. This event is sponsored by the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce, and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Wetlands Institute’s Terrapin Conservation Program.


Stone Harbor Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks
Saturday July 4, 2020 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm
95th Street Beach

Celebrate our nation’s independence with fireworks.

Stone Harbor Festival of Lights Boat Parade
Saturday July 18, 2019 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Yacht Club of Stone Harbor, 9001 Sunset Drive

Boat parade begins at the Yacht Club, then heads south around Paradise Basin and Sanctuary Basin. Boats will enter Carnival Bay, then Pleasure Bay and then will continue north into Stone Harbor basin, Shelter Haven, Snug Harbor, South and North Basins. Boats will then return south and end back at the Yacht Club where judging occurs on deck followed by an after-party. Prizes will be given for best boat, dock and costume.

Santa’s Stone Harbor Vacation

Stone Harbor’s 8th annual Savor September Wine, Beer and Food Festival
Saturday, September 26, 2020 – 12:00pm to 8:00pm
96th Street Shopping District

Enjoy all that Stone Harbor restaurants have to offer in food and drink. The 8th annual Stone Harbor Savor September Food, Wine and Beer Festival will showcase the best food, wine & beers.  Enjoy tasting tents, a grape stomping competition, live & local music, talented art vendors and much more fun for the whole family.

Wetlands Fall Migration Festival
Saturday, September 19, 2020- 9:30am to 4:30pm
The Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Boulevard

At The Wetlands Institute, fall is an excellent opportunity to witness the spectacle of migration of varies species of birds including raptors, warblers, waterfowl, and more. During this festival, visitors of all ages will be able to see, explore, learn, and enjoy. Guided viewing of migratory birds from the Institute and on Seven Mile Island will be offered in addition to much more.


Stone Harbor Kids Harvest Festival
Saturday October 24, 2020 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
96th Street Shopping District

Family-friendly events centered around fall harvest and Halloween. Trick or treat at Stone Harbor businesses and enjoy hayrides, crafts and more.
